Ya i cant find any info on this either, im guessing they reseed each round like nhl playoffs, and not like nba. nba is locked where for example 1/8 seed winner automaticaly plays 4/5 winner, in conference semis. nhl is not like that they take top ranked team left each round, and they play lowest ranked taem. i think that how it goes for the olympics too

If you look on adjusted odds, canada is still the favorite my book has them +222 now, and russia is +300, usa is +385 and sweden is +410.

I'm not sure about the Over, but I like Canada... I'd lean towards 4-1... I think their priority is stopping USA and showing them how physical they can be, and then burying the puck with authority when they get the chance. Canada can NOT lose this game if they want to live the next 4 years in peace.

This line is pretty sharp... the team totals are really throwing me off.
First of all, it is regulation time only on olympic hockey almost everywhere, so when betting -1 you aren't getting the '5dimes style' -1 line where if they win by 1 in any way you push, they have to win by 1 in regulation to push. I can't find a line on Canada -1.5 for some value anywhere... it is basically the same thing with a bail-out in case they win by 1 in OT, but the -1.5 would have a much better payout and expect USA to take every chance at the end, an empty netter for Canada could easily come out of it.. The ML of -200 is too steep for me (unless I parlay it with all my other plays Sunday - scary), and the value on the reg time only bet is gone.
So since I like the idea of the -1.5 the most you would think I'd take -1... but the USA team total is 2.5 with (-125) on the over. Sometimes TT's can be a little misleading when they are an even # like 2, because while the over may be juiced they project the team to only get 2... but with 2.5 and juice on the over, they are basically saying that the USA is most likely to score 3 goals, with 2 goals being just behind... and the Canada TT is 3.5 with -150 on the under... expecting 3 goals, 4 would not be a longshot. --But the team totals DO include overtime, so considering that I need my team to win by 2, and they expect a very tight game in regulation, -1 (reg time only) at only even money has no value at all.
In my opinion the very large majority of the bets will be on the U.S. and the books are making it much easier to take that side. This game is a huge revenge game for Canada... if they didn't take these games seriously, they will now - it's down to one game and the Canadians will not carry around 2 losses the U.S. for the next 4 years. Don't expect either team to come out slow, but Canada will win the physical battles and trust me - they will bring it. The Canadiens size and strength will overpower the Americans and stop their speed - winning the battles comes down to who wants it more. In the last game, the U.S. had nothing to lose and everything to win - it was their superbowl. For the Canadians it was a preliminary game with only the possiblity of failure and no reward for winning - it was expected. Now they have everything to win and team U.S.A. is expected to defend their 'mini-miracle'. Canada will not 'survey the territory' in this game and think they can hang on to the puck and take their time early in this one - they will come with some fire, mark my words. I've never seen a team like this have such a reason to step up for a game - and despite what you have seen so far (and their team history) I don't care - this is a GREAT team. As good as you could ever put together with only a handful of exceptions.
1st Period - Canada dominates the first ten minutes - speed, puck control, hitting, winning all the battles because they will have more effort and more size. They won't be caught off guard by team USA - I'll admit it, I gave the U.S. no chance to even be near this game and they have stepped up, but that shows how easy it was to overlook them. 2-0 Canada
2nd Period - Things should even out, U.S.A. with feeling their backs against the wall and Canada with a feeling of relief. U.S.A. finds the net - Canada does too
3rd Period - Canada finishes with 20 great minutes of hockey and closes the game out the same way they started - domination.
Final Score: Canada 5 U.S.A 1

***My book, and most books are REGULATION TIME ONLY for all Olympic bets. So the "moneyline" is really more like -.5 (reg time only)... if the game goes to OT, best is a LOSS. Canada to win outright is available, but at around -220.

One important angle to the game that is up in the air... who starts in goal for team Canada?
Brodeur and Luongo are 2 of the absolute best in the game, so it will be hard to choose between the two. Brodeur's last game was embarrassing... there was nothing good to say about it. But he is one of the absolute greatest to ever play the position, and this will most likely be his last Olympics, and a rare chance to finish his Olympic career in Vancouver, Canada. Luongo on the other hand seems like the obvious choice - consistently a league leader and hasn't shown any good reason to doubt him. But in my opinion FLEURY could actually be a very good choice too. This has not been a great season for Fleury and he has struggled at times - but he is an elite goaltender and most importantly he won the Stanley Cup last year and made it to the finals the year before. He is clutch, and has faced this kind of pressure since he was in the World Junior Championships at the age of 19. He has had some of his best games when all eyes were on him, he would have no problem backing up a motivated Team Canada.
Just food for thought... not sure who they are starting, but I give Fleury about 1 in 100 chance lol5:
