Westptx told me about being able to subscribe to a particular thread and then you can get email updates anytime someone posts in the thread. How difficult would it be, if it is even possible, to be able to "subscribe" to a particular handicapper / poster and get email notifications anytime they make a post? For example, subscribing to SoonerBS and anytime he makes a post, whoever subscribes to his posts receives an email notification.

I'm just thinking this would be really beneficial for sports like college hoops where there are so many games going on and if a guy makes a 2nd half play and someone isn't on the forum but wants to follow their plays, they can get an email notification, which might be beneficial if they have a PDA and get emails on their phone. Just a thought and don't even know if it would be possible or not.

Just sent him a pm...but I'll go into more detail here. There is no plan in place for implementing this. Considering the number of posts that people make here that would be a hell of a lot of email traffic from our server. On gameday, our traffic goes through the roof since there are about 10x as many "guests" browsing than people posting. Couple that with 1,2,3,etc emails per post per user, it gets out of hand. If we move to a new server, I'll definitely see what we can do about this
